Athena Elementary School participated in the World Wide Welcome Youth Relay. We joined 200 other groups around the United States in healthy movement, in counting down to the World Atheletics Championships Oregon22, and in welcoming teams from around the world to Hayward Field at the Univerity of Oregon for the first ever World Athletics Championships to be held in the United States. This history-making moment will feature over 2,000 athletes from 200-plus countries and 10 days of track and field competition -- making it one of the largest sports events in the country, and the largest track and field even on the planet in 2022! Our school was paired with two countries, Algeria and Tunisia.
