What a spring this has been! On behalf of the entire Athena-Weston staff, I wish to express my gratitude and congratulations for the hard work that parents and students have displayed during these unprecedented times.  We have missed the day to day interactions with our students and the entire school district community.  We are looking forward to our return in late August and remain optimistic that things will improve for the safety of all.  The Oregon Department of Education has been engaged in a process to develop guidance for school start-up.  This guidance is expected to be released around the second week of June.  The Athena-Weston School District staff have also been planning and specifically reviewing current classroom space, staffing, sanitation needs and transportation needs to finalize our back to school model.  Our priority is to have all students physically back at school while meeting all safety guidelines.    Our current assessment indicates that we have the capacity to achieve this goal.  For students who have additional risk factors and wish to continue online/Distance Learning, this option will remain available and supported.  We will publish our finalized re-opening plans following state approval.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer and we will be ready and waiting for your return in late August.  If you have materials that need to be returned, please contact the district office at 541-566-3551.

Attention Athena Elementary School Parents:

Please return all devices, textbooks, library books, and remaining student work by 6 p m  Friday, June 5th. Staff will be at Athena Elementary School to accept items Monday, June 1st through Wednesday, June 3rd from 2 p m until 6 p m with extended hours on Thursday, June 4th and Friday, June 5th from noon until 6 pm.  Again, please return the mentioned items before 6 p m Friday June 5th to avoid charges to your students account. Thank you for your cooperation. We wish you a happy and healthy summer looking toward a fresh start this fall.
